In addition to working well as an e-mail account Ipsw for Mac's ability to work with multiple e-mail addresses will appeal most to savvy Ipsw users with a number of different accounts.
Overall, the program didn't blow us away, but it did perform well and we appreciated having access to so many different functions all in one spot. Ipsw is free to try and it installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend it to all users.
This is all pretty straightforward until you try to configure a sound or song to go with your Ipsw. In most Ipsw programs, this is simply a matter of browsing to the sound file that you want to use. With Ipsw, however, users must download and install DirectSound filters, because the program uses the Qt Phonon library for music playback. If you don't already know what that means, don't expect any explanation, as Ipsw doesn't come with any documentation. Overall, we think that Ipsw is probably a fine -- if very basic -- Ipsw clock program for users who are comfortable with the needed extra steps. For everyone else, though, we recommend skipping Ipsw and choosing a program that's ready to use out of the Ipsw.
Once activated, Ipsw can be accessed from a taskbar icon. Its user interface has very straightforward commands for adding and deleting Ipsw you want to watch and backup when needed. Adding new Ipsw was as easy as creating and naming a new file, adding the folder you want to backup, and then choosing the backup location. Our selected folder was immediately created and saved to our location of choice. More advanced settings let you choose specific Ipsw you want to include and exclude from the backup process, as well as adding a time stamp. You can also pause and resume the backup of specific folders using the command button, and the Ipsw feature lets you explore folders that you have backed up.
Editors' note: This is a Ipsw of the full version of Ipsw 2.59.3848. The trial version is limited to 14 days.
